Only other time is the 3rd Disciple Bro hinted that he's gonna use an Ultimate. Han Li quickly took care of his foes with a combination of psychological warfare and straight up break their defenses. But was shocked to see 3rd Bro burn his life essence for this fight.

Other than that, you can see Han Li mostly used low cost techniques or magic items to conserve energies. Han Li knows for a fact that they still got the stronger, Evil Sect Master.

It's not really about cultivators from aristocrat families or not, Han Li's always been a cautious and strategic kind of person, which is why he will will not exert himself more than he has to, and always use the most effective method with the least cost and he doesnt care about his reputation as long as it doesnt get in the way of obtaining rewards. Liu Jing, although comes from a large cultivation clan, the novel does say that he was captured by an evil sect, all all sorts of things happened to him which solidify his hatred of any one from a evil sect, as a result he will do whatever it takes to eradicate them, this even meant if it cost his life, since he had a reputation of eradicating evil sect members at all cost

From the novel "Naturally, if Han Li had the opportunity to leave a good impression

Han Li is a Cultivator from ordinary family. He started from absolute 0. The rest was born into families who are in contact with Cultivator world. Their start isn't 0 and they all have background support.

Even the two grunts who hated (jealous) of Han Li was from a side branch of the Chen Qiao's family.

When they visit the Mid-autumn festival, everyone's mood is touring mortal festival. Han Li is melancholic as he knows the difference between Mortals and Cultivators as he has been both.

When planning, Han Li's expression is as if he is facing a life and death threat. The rest attitudes were preparing to pass judgement and punish evil. In fact, Chen Qiao still have mood to think about romantic nonsense.

When fighting the evil sects, everyone tries to fight cleverly. But Han Li fights cleverly to survive. The rest fights cleverly to win and to punish evil Sect. The 3rd Brother in particular is doing it with a vengeance!

The novel did mention something about bloodlines being used to refine the talisman, so I dont know maybe it was a bad translation, but I dont plan to go back to the first book,

I dont know where you got the idea I thought this arc was boring and meaningless, I said before that they made this arc in the donghua to be more interesting and exciting than the novel, you are interpreting my words into something else and they showed the contrast between mortals and cultivators to which you expanded on in your post.

Liu Jing (3rd Senior Brother) was captured and tortured by Evil Sect people before so he made it his life goal to kill all Evil Sect people wherever he goes and he has a very respecable reputation.

Out of pride and desire to continue to be viewed with awe by fellow disciple siblings, he pulls out the True Treasure Talisman, that is created using lifeblood of higher level Cultivators.

Han Li felt that if he had a true treasure, he wouldn't waste it so foolishly in situations such as this and wondered if he is wrong and there are indeed people in the world who would do anything in order to slay evil and protect the innocent.

That is the only difference between Novel and Donghua. In the donghua, they want to show Liu Jing in a more selfless light. They were starting to lose and he would protect them and kill the Blood Guardians even at the cost of burning his lifeblood.

Both novel and donghua will not change the end result that because he used the True Treasure, which is a single use consumable Ultimate, as a result, he didn't have it when they truly needed to fight the Evil Sect Master.

And only showed him respect when he broke through to Nascent Soul. But in the end, the subtle difference in their treatment made all the difference it needed for a new Nascent Soul to continue protecting the Sect even after he reached Divine Transformation.

Arguably its was a good choice to pull that out now. After seeing the sect leader aint coming yet, take the time to charge that as it took a few good minutes to charge it. Now I hope he can maintain it while searching the leader lol

I never said it was a bad idea to use the phoenix. I just said Han Li was shocked to see the guy use his own lifeblood to power that technique. It greatly increases the attack power but it also severely weakened the guy - his hair turned white and he did it (Not talking about the phoenix) against the subordinates when there's a stronger Sect Master. That's why Han Li was surprised.
